I'm currently interviewing for a leadership role in sales. The Management has asked me to prepare a ppt, where I have to present how I would achieve a target of 100 crores this financial year with the help of the sales team and how would I set it for the new sales members across India and generate business, and segregate their responsibilities towards the target. Please help

Dear Matgalsteron,

The first sentence of your post is confusing. You could have written, "Currently I am being interviewed for the leadership role in the sales team"... OR "I have applied for the post of ______ in _______ (nature of the company)".

You have raised the post with insufficient information. What is the nature of your industry? What will be your designation? How many salespersons will report to you? How many persons are already employed and how many you will recruit after your selection? What types of products will your company sale? Overall what will be the qualification of the salespersons?

You have been told to prepare the sales plan to achieve Rs 100 Cr sales in the forthcoming financial year. However, what is the sales revenue now?

Did the company hire any professional agency to do market research? Are the salespersons focusing on the right market segment? What is the guarantee that they are not barking up a wrong tree?

Has the company done any research on why do the sales call fail and why do the sales call succeed? Have the lessons learnt have been recorded in an organised manner?

There are so many questions associated with your post. Unless we get replies to the above questions no suggestions can be given. Building a financial sales plan of Rs 100 Cr will require a lot of information and exercise is not akin to building castles in the air!

Thanks,

Dinesh Divekar

1. Summarize the key points of your strategy. 2. Express confidence in the proposed plan. 3. Open the floor for questions.
