Dear Prateek
It is difficult to answer all your questions in this forum. You can alternately send an email to me.
About higher technical education in India:
It is lacking in several counts: (a) lack of practical or industrial experience before they pass out from the campus; (b) some of the subjects like mathematics are not application oriented; though the title of the subject sounds like " engineering mathematics" ; (c) statistics and data analysis techniques are not covered sufficiently.
Further, lack of committed faculty, particularly in branches of Computer Science and Electronics - has brought down the quality of teaching. Since software companies are offering more, even faculty get tempted to switch to a software company rather than stay in a teaching institution.
I am working for my PhD in the field of Research Productivity and Teaching Effectiveness in Higher Technical Education. I am now busy with data analysis. I am afraid, I may not be able to devote more time to answer your queries. I will be relatively free after a couple of months.
Are you doing your study on Distance Education mode?
all the best
