Thanks for sharing the incident news with us... A very unfortunate one... Let's pray for the soul of the victim...
You see in the entire news all were mentioning about the post injury management... but nobody mentioning why this fall took place... What was the root cause and all...
However we can hope that the management of L&T will take preventive and corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of such incidents in their construction sites...

In Gujarat, on 3 March 2009 night at L & T site, Hajira two workers fell down from height. Ajay Yadav, 23, died on the spot and Shyambahadur was seriously injured. 4th March-National Safety Day- was celebrated by workers vandalism. 20 cars were broken down. In stone pelting security and police was injured. Workers put on fire police van. It is said that wokers demanded compensation and expenses for treatment to which contractor refused.

Dear Raghu, L&T safety culture is only showing, when I was at Jamnagar Refinery project, I saw the L&T safety, the safety only at papers.

In our country always we having such kind of problems most of them blame companies only i rememberd Mr.Sudhir or Mr.Kesava pillai said this on one thread ''I strongly believe changes starts from mine'' i hope the same as well. Our culture is totally different than others we need take care of ourself. You mentioned L&T incidents for good example; its one of the biggest group in India they have the good culture i believe 90% of accidents or incidents happend in L&T due to workers they are not following the procedures i am not blame them 100% just i said they are also a reason for accidents and incidents.

Absolutely no Mr.Manish its one of the leading company in our country we cannot blame management for all specially in L&T construction side its very very hard to watch our workers at all times. i don't think we have such rules in our country like every 50 employees should need one safety office like this...??
When i visit last time India in Chennai to vellore highway L&T are very busy to starting construction projects install barriers ( i hope its with stand more than 300 lbs) , sign boards and deflective signs etc.,, I seen most of the places public's remove the barrier and damaged the signs etc..,, In this case if some one cross the road or some one fall into trench we are blame L&T safety culture its who's mistake???

At present Mumbai - Nasik 4 way High Way construction is going on. This work is being done by L&T.
They have very good safety system which are evident.
They control the traffic very well.
