There is as such no hard and fast rule that says you can't do it, but since the SAP HR role itself seeks person with previous work experience in HR or as the case with other SAP functional modules, it is better to do it with some exposure of HR real time work. But as it seems you are quite a student as of now, you can try out SIEMENS or Genovate to have the SAP Functional Certification (Cost: Approx 3.75lakhs).

My friend is a working in an IT company as SAP HR. He has got overall 4.5 yrs of exp in HR and as SAP Functional consultant he has got 2.5yrs. He is looking for a job change. and he is very much worried about his career as there is some slag in the Industry. Kindly let me know if there is any opening for SAP HR. ready to relocate anywhere in India. How is the industry for SAP HR. is there any growthfro these SAP HR Proffesionals.
Iam also interested to explore myself about SAP HR. As i have got 2.5 yrs of exp as HR executive but most of experience is into Recruitment. Is it neccessary that i should gain experience into post recruitment / generalist activities also other thatn recruitment to get into SAP.
