Dear member,

Planning the career of the employees is important HR activity. A career plan gives direction to the employee on how he/she should improve, what skills he/she should master etc.

Nevertheless, your query on the career plan is too short. Are you HR Professional or Team Member? Secondly, if you do not have an understanding of career planning then you may improve your understanding of the subject by reading books or at least the material available on the web. In fact, sufficient material is available on this forum also.

Once you understand the subject then you may prepare the template of the career plan and if you wish then you may upload it here. Some seniors like me will vet it.

Thereafter, circulate to the members of your team some material career planning and let them have an understanding of this subject also. Later give them a template of the career plan. Let them prepare the plan and come back to you. You may review it and give them guidance to improvise it further. This guidance should be based on the strengths and weaknesses of the team member.

Suggesting changes in one's career plan is no easy task. It requires immense maturity. Therefore, it is better to involve some senior or HOD in the review of the career plan.

Lastly, career plans do not remain the same. You need to have a yearly review as well. Constantly, newer skills need to be added. However, that needs to be done after a year or so. At this stage, the important thing for you is to improve your own understanding of the career plan.

Thanks,
