I was an employee of Cognizant Technology Solutions. I worked for nearly 2 years. Since I had to complete my 2 years experience and appear for MBA exam- I asked my manager to let me complete the 2 months notice. However, I didn\'t go to office meanwhile to prepare for MBA exams. I kept checking the emails for last date. No such mail had come. But after 2 days of my last mail check I was unable to login. (I should have gone to company at that point only.) Considering it as technical glitch I went to company my manager informed me that I was released 1 week back. When I asked him about serving full 2 months he suggested to have a chat with an HR. Unfortunately I took up the point of absconding for more than 1 week and has said that he won\'t be giving me the experience certificate.
What can I do in such a case? I will have a hole of 2 years in my career!!

Dear Whosoever !!
When you stopped going to office was it a sanctioned leave or you decided for yourself not to go & prepare for MBA exam?
If it was not sanctioned, your company has done what it should do. Before going on leave or if your intentions were not wrong, the same should have been communicated to HR along with Manager to put up an official resignation, serving proper notice period & then EXPECTING to receive the experience certificate.

I totally understand that the call I made was hugely erroneous/unprofessional/immature.
Kindly suggest me the future course of action because even MBA plans will fall apart with 2 year hole in my resume!!
Thanks in Advance.

Only if your company is ready for that. You can request your intentions of paying the notice pay in lieu of experience certificate. But this call completely depends on what kind of responsibility were you handling & was it necessary to handover the same properly - notice period is meant for that. You can even take your manager in loop & ask him to convince the management & HR.
