Hey
I had taken this e-mail etiquette session for my team in a corporate.
What I did was give sample situations to the audience before had, and asked them to send their responses to me before the session. The session included a heavy discussion from everyone where we dissected each response for pros and cons.
The end result was a common ground to most situations.
One could look at it as an option. Besides, would like to know a few more specifics about your communication training. Is it verbal, e-mail, body language or all?

There are many elements that make up communication. Writing, listening and speaking is communication however perceptions and experiences are a part of the communications process. Perceptions result from life experiences. How you react to a situation depends on your perception of the meaning. Good communication skills include an awareness of how the receiver might be interpreting your message. Other communication skills importantly also include the following.
§Speaking correctly
§Being a good listener during a conversation
§Asking questions for clarification
§Giving feedback
§Using tact in a non-argumentative manner
§Body language
§Posture
§Good eye contact
§ Respecting personal space
§ Written skills
§Awareness of cultural differences
§Offering praise and appreciations
§Humor
Accordingly first you identify which skills are lacked and which need focused interventions. This can be done by understanding the needs from the line or HOD. Post this analysis you may have sessions and interventions on the above elements. Simulations, exercises and role plays can do you good.

the communication skills with respect to your company :
Verbal Communication skills : Have a english speaking zone created in the organization and reward the person who is a good speaker .
b )Have a discussion forum / Talk show so that viewers can express their thoughts which would be a good practice in bringing out the thought through words which would inturn enhance the communication.
[B]Writtern Communication: Keep an online blog to post their comments in the blog for a rapid/ quick test so that we can bring in participation and also we can involve the employee entering their reply all by themselves in their own language.
if there is budget in your company go in for Outbound learning ( OBL) with communication as a theme which would bring in a difference in the communication and also the culture in the work environment.
Try any of these options and then document the observation before the start of the training and also post the training is completed also which would give us a direction how to proceed from there on

Anything formal might not catch a lot of attention or interest for a long time. You need to be creative and also ensure that there is a pattern in such activities. Being a start-up you could use ice breaker sessions and go on to focus on any one aspect of communication each day of the week. That is the method I follow in my office for all internal motivation and overcoming hurdles in communication and from the response I get I think it is quite a hit.
Try it before you reject it...

Dear,
To improve Communication at workplace tends to focus on the loose points of current communication at work. Please analyze, what's actually missing- relationship amongst members, Managers or groups or the people have weak communication aptitude.
Some of the small activities that you can plan keeping in view the time constraints are:
1. Hold regular HRD meeting with Groups: Divide total strength into groups at workplace. Organize weekly meetings with such groups, record their queries/suggestions/issues and solve them in most communicable manner. Also hold discussion meeting with Managers and encourage them to be effective with their teams. They can also assist in improving communication.
2. Weekly/Bi-weekly/monthly Team meetings: Make such meetings more structured. Motivate Managers to hold both formal/informal meetings with their Team-Members and can also share the main highlights with HR (if required).
3. Send daily inspirational mails to employees and ask them to share their views about it.
4. Start monthly on-line magazine and ask people to share their articles as well.
5. Weekly HR events related to communication-
a. Online quiz (having English reasoning questions)
b. On-line/off-line paragraph writing on current topics, general topics
c. To write a passage over any good caricature.
d. Debate/Extempore/Quiz Competition
Motivate your people to participate in such HR activities by rewarding winner by small gifts/sincere appreciation.
There are many ways in which HR can engage employees. The more you engage; more communication will enhance but ensure to enhance trust as well that builds a better communication at workplace.
Best Regards
