Hi All,
here is my question.I am looking for an advice here..
1. I am working in a very reputed MNC since last 1.5 yrs.(My total exp is 3.5-4 years)
But I am not at all satisfied with my job due to bad working culture,bad manager,weekend working,ever increasing workload etc.,2 hours commutation time the list goes on & on.
2. I have thought of quitting this job to go to some service based cos like TCS,Infy which may not offer me much hike but my life will hopefully be better there..
3. But problem being this is my already 3rd job within 4 years..
My 2 previous ones were very small companies which I had to eventually leave because of very less pay..So I am kind of unfortunate regarding this..
4.So what should I do ? IF I quit again will it reflect bad on my CV ?
Should I continue my same job for some more time (very difficult :() ?
Is searching for 4th job in 4 year a very bad thing that will affect my career in a long run ?

there is a famous saying "No pain-No gain".It appears you want too many goodies at the same time- more pay, less commutation, branded company, less work,two weekly offs, good manager and great work culture and some leisure for you. Are you sure, if you leave this company,you get all this from another company.But what I undestand is that you are looking for work- life balance.First try to be clear in your career and life goals.Career goals include a career progresssion with decent pay in compnies of repute and life goals means allowing some time to you to spend with your family and socialising.I do not find any fault with your way of thinking. Work-life balance is the most toughest challenge of the modern times for the corporate world. You may have to make some cmpromises in some area to gain benefit in another area. Therefore, prepare a wish list and prioritise them and start zeroing on the targets. for example, your priority is to avoid two hours on commuting but you want an MNC or an indian Blue -Chip company and you will compromise on pay. Try to find out whether there is such company within the commutable distance of yours, though it offers you less pay.try any method of compensating for less pay like adding any new skill set the job offers to you.

Please think about the reasons other than inconvenience, for changing jobs. We understand its humanly difficult to live or work beyond certain conditions. A firm closing down or a role being closed , is totally beyond you. However, when the reason for a job change should remain self-explanatory, you have fewer reasons to worry. If your salary have been constantly on an upward swing , it will say lot more about you , than you can mention. Incapability to deal with challenges at work place shows lower maturity. Its natural to develop these competencies with time. Remain humble with your understanding and share how much you learnt from your seniors.
Put the reasons in right perspectives. Count your learning from the different environment and state how these could add on to the role you are applying at TCS or other major giants. State why should they trust you hiring for a role which require consistency.

It seems that my post has given impression that I expect too much from the job & want everything to happen in a right way..
However this is not the case. How can anyone justify daily unnecessary deadlines (which are because of lapses on their part & not me), bad treatment irrespective of good work done.
I am not asking for everything to be great but is it too much to expect some of these basic things to be of fair level...?.
Still my question remains : How much job switches are too much ?
