I was working with pvt sector bank as a BM.

During my tenure i have given an interview in HDFC bank for the post BH, I have been selected and got the offer letter and CTC breakup on my email id in the month of May 13. HDFC hr has called me and told me to give the confirmation on offer letter so that they can complete the further process like medical etc.

But after giving the confirmation, even after 10 days I have not received any call form HDFC HR and hence I did the followup with them and then I came the know that they have kept me on hold for some verification.

After some days again I have contacted to HDFC hr and they told me, I have hide that i am on notice period, I explained them that I am on 3 months notice period which is going to complete on 1st week of July 13and during interview, interviewer has not asked me and I forgot to tell them. I told them, I have given the resign due to some personal problem and there is not any integrity/compliance issue. For more clarification I have given the contact number of my Regional head and my supervisor.

Again after some days I called to hr for knowing the status and they told they are confused about my candidature and told me to wait for some days. Again I called them after few days, they replied that they filled the position internally and sent the mail to me on June 13 stating"the position has been closed internally, we will not be able to take your candidature forward"

But they have not tole me the reason for rejecting my candidature

Here I want to tell you my Ex-bosses had tried to retained me but I refused it as I had got the offer from HDFC and in last moment HDFC has rejected me and currently I am unemployed.

My situation is like 'Na Ghar Ka Na Ghat Ka'

Please suggest to get the best job in the industry even I am unemployed and what to do if I want to join HDFC only.

Well, I would say to look for some other good opportunity........or if possible to you discuss the situation with your ex boss or HR if you find it right for you.
And here, I would say that it looks that HDFC staff is always confused not only for providing the better services with convenience to its customers and but also confused in deciding internal matters that proves here and the reason is that they always overdo the things...

Is there a clause in your offer letter that states that they HDFC can withdraw the candidature? If not, you can talk to them that it is illegal.

Dear Bushan,
Sorry for your situation, however at this point I would suggest you to hunt for a job. Apparently do not frame yourself, that you would be working only with HDFC. Your present situation will not support you being choosy about the employer. Also I am not from a banking sector. I believe that all the banks are regulated by a general body and the principles would be the same.
Your present designation is Branch Manager, which itself explains that you are not a junior. Rejecting a candidate would be of any reasons and you cannot find justice in the interview process with no proper reasons. Might be, the verification team would have tried to speak with someone in your present employer and the feedback should have been not that rosy.
Just cheer up and look in for a new opportunity and remember, every man is lucky one day!

I observe that you have resigned from your previous job for personal rasons but not on account of any assurance of job from HDFC Thus you cannoot hold HDFC responsible for loss of job. It has only offered you the post and sought your confirmation of the same so that the other pre-ecruitment formalities like medical can be completed. Thus it appears that the offer letter from HDFC does not confer any right to employment since recruitment formalities were yet to be completed. In the mean time .it also appears that you have informed HDFC about your resignation and notice period only when they confronted you with the fact. Thus there seemed to be some gap in information sharing between you and HDFC. Keeping all this in view, there does not seem to be a strong ground to contest rejection by HDFC. You may for your satisfaction consult an advocate locally with offer letter and related correspondance exchanged between you and the Bank, to have an opinion. It may be prudent to look for other jobs in banks since you have experience in banking sector and there are enough public and private sector banks that need experienced professionals.. All the best.

I would advise you to look for a new opportunity. Going back & getting involve with "HDFC" wouldn't be productive since you are unemployed... Sorry, if am being obtuse but Co. & financial institutions similar has many legal matters/law suits filed for which they have a team of legal advisers & attorneys paid on file basis. Its "TIME CONSUMING'. So wishing a very lucky week ahead with great opportunities on your way...

Dear Bhusan,
Have you tried with your other ex-employers? Re-hire might be an option , as they already know about your credibility.
The recent one, might not work for you, as you have already cleared your interest.
Wish you all the best !

Search for another job but ask the reason from HDFC as its very critical situation for u. If Hdfc sent u offer letter it means you are selected and they can't denied at last moment to appoint u only if any information provided by you is found false.
So my dear first check what information have u provided to them then ask directly from bank through email.
It better to consult with advocate and send him a legal letter.
Its common to avoid court as we are Indian but do it not only for yourself but also for other people.
I saw this type of culture in many private companies. In last moment they select the post internally or appoint a person from reference may be due to influence of superior.
At last only suggest you to fight and search for another job.
