Management as such has no role to play legally. Many organisations keep away. But I had been making unions to conduct elections within the premises without any hindrance to production .It involved a budget of closer to one lakh in 1990s. But it created Trust . Even counting used to be done by Management staff . But if there are more than one union, this can not be done.
You need to examine your company's requirement. assess IR situation, and if you are confident of handling the situation, then you can conduct inside without hindrance to production Otherwise, just leave it to them to handle themselves.

If it is an election to the posts of office bearers of unions the management has no role.Instead if the election is to determine the unions to be recognized by the management based on a settlement or award or law ,then it is responsibility of the management.
