Hi
Whilst books can give you definite insights into a variety of qualities, skills and competencies that could have a major influence in dealing with people, ultimately it is your own style, personality, upbringing, attitudes, behavior and passion that will largely determine your ability to manage tasks and people.
A book which immediately comes to mind that should help you get a holistic grasp of people management is 'How to win friends and influence people' by Dale Carnegie. Whilst the book has been written in the midn1930's and has examples of that period, the core of the book and the message has remained the same over the years.
You might also get a lot of inputs from Leadership Management books as also Communication books since the issues of people management is largely dictated by the manner, mode, time, style and effectiveness of communications. The various theories of leadership could also help you identify your own natural style, the limitations and strengths of that style, it could open your eyes to alternative styles as also bring to the fore your own prejudices and perceptions that make you ineffective. At the same time you would also be aware of some key strengths that you can leverage to effectively connect with the people you have to interact with.
At the core of people management is Dale Carnegie's principle ' If you take interest in people, people will take interest in you'
You are welcome to visit my Motivational and Inspirational blogs listed below, which would also contain useful inputs relevant to your needs.

Hello Mcite,
Mr Jacob has shared an excellent thought and his reference to Dale Carnegie is very apt.
In general you can refer to any text on Interpersonal Relationship.
You can also refer to other books like 7 Habits ( by Stephen Covey), Emotional Intelligence
Daniel Goleman) Motivation ( Richard Danny) and similar texts.
In addition to the above, also search in Cite HR by typing in TYPE YOUR QUERY
