As per Section 19(c) of the Act, companies with 10 or more employees must conduct workshops and awareness programs at regular intervals for sensitizing employees. If an organisation fails to do so then there is a penalty that can be extended up to 50,000 as prescribed under Section 26 of the Act.
Why is it important?
In an organization people come and work together from different backgrounds, ethnicity, gender, and cultural setups. There are certain statements and certain words that have been normalised in an employee's psychology based on their experiences and lives that they have lived but that same thing might normal for someone else.
Sensitivity training is typically offered by an organization to help members of a team gain a better understanding of themselves and those around them. It helps employees to be more sensitive and accepting of the existing diversity in the workplace.
Sensitivity training heightens the awareness of hidden, but complex barriers that could influence job performance, productivity, safety, employee retention, health, and quality customer service.
Visit our sensitivity training page to see how we can train your employees to become more aware of themselves and what is going on around them. The main training method used by Ungender Legal Advisory is experience-based learning which involves the trainees in experiencing reflecting, hypothesizing conceptualizing and experimenting rather than lectures.
