Hi!!!!!!

Here I am with an issue which I have been facing now a days. Really not good but want to know experties opinion on the same.

I had joined a new organization in Dec'2012 as a backend support in sales department.

There was no one in backoffice support that time as their former employee was on maternity leave. Training of 3 days was scheduled for me but the lady who was appointed for the same did not told me anything except that you wont learn in short time which is aggreed. But when I started on my office I had to complete the pending, so I started to ask & do the things from other branches coordinators & I succeed in. From Jan'13 to Mar'13 I was doing fine in the system & software (ERP) and other s/w also.

I myself done some R & D in ERP & made my work easier.

In Mar'13 the lady who was on maternity leave joined & taken away all responsibility from me & ask me to look after the contract and documentation only. (At the time of joining other responsibilities along with contracts has discussed with me which was agreed) I was trying to involve in other activities also which I suppose to & under my responsibility.

Shortly everybody in the surrounding came to know that she is feeling insecure about job.

(like if sombody else is able to do what she can then her importance will be less. So she put me out of the sphere and tried to proove no one can do the job except her, and started to do everything by her own even I asked if you have so much load I would help u out to complete it, but she least bothered & kept on sayin that she will complete in short & I will not be amle to do. UIn fact she was preparing the reports taking the whole day which can be done in few minuits or Max 1/2 an hour. But denied & situations turned like what the new joinee is doing? She is doing nothing(Thats me). Last week GM HR called me up & showed me my termination lettershowing the reason of non performance.

The issue is that What I was told to do afterwards to lookafer the documentation only

which I was doing at my best & no documentation was available there @ the time f my joining I completed almost 85% of documentation.

I was told to accept termination or resign backded.

I choose to resign.

I am Jobless now what to do?

Can any management do like this ? Is it legal/ Illegal.

In one word we can say that it is not professional, but don't get disheartened try for another job, and am sure you will get a very good job than this. Please treat this period a lesson since the employer has used your skill for temporary basis i.e. to fill the gap of Maternity Leave of the existing employee.

It seems to be the case of workplace politics .It is unethical. Now you need to only think about the lessons you have learnt in this episode and the positives that accrued out of your brief stint there which according to me are as follows and need to move on. Do not dispair since the world is of infinite possibilties.

1) The lesson that is to be learnt is that in future whenever you were selected in an interview, get it confirmed that the appointment is not for a leave vcany or stop gap arrangement and that it is for a regular vacancy.

2) The positives are that you can build systems and methods on your own even if the help is not coming from the right sources.

3) You have the ability to interact with others and keep the processes moving even if the people that matter create obstacles. That is a great confidence booster.

4) Since you have done some R&D in ERP, you must have acquired more knowledge than what you did know before joining this organisation.

5) That you are not the one who will give up easily, has now been establsihed.

With so many positives on your side, it is only a matter of time you get a better break.

All the best.
