Dear Rbairwa...
It is always advantageous to give complete background to why we are seeking help. From your location in the ID, it appears that you are working in the automobile industry in USA. So, I will presume that you are conversant with the use of the web to search for information. By modifying the terms from your query, I searched for "Hazards in welding shops" and found these links http://www.tdi.texas.gov/pubs/videor...eldhazards.pdf and Welding fume health hazards - Safety Tech Cell - TheFabricator.com
More such links can be found by "Googling".

Hazards are
Inhalation of fumes from the welding. It depends on the metal which is being used and the flux used.
The next one is injury to the eye if the welder don,t wear the safety goggles. This is due to the ultra violet light which is emitted during welding and also the infra red ray which also emitted during the same process.
The risk is short term injury and at times may be losing the eye sight due to retinal damage.
Lead poisoning during welding is the commonest risk during welding process.
