Hello Everyone,
I have just started as a HR and looking for someone to mentor me in this regard. Would appreciate if someone could share with me the various HR policies for a small to mid-sized IT firm in and around Delhi with a main office based outside of India.Below are the few areas of concern:
*Salary range for Senior to Juinor level IT associates,
*Bonus percentages and how frequently do the companies give bonuses?
*Frequency of pay-hikes and percentage of the same,
*Medical Benefits - best health insurance schemes and the amount paid,
*Details to be included in the job contract of an employee.
Looking forward to hear from all the experienced and senior HR Managers/Personnel especially who have worked in the IT related firm.
Thanks in advance.

Dear Ms. Ladybee
In addition to the information referred by Ms. NABOMITA, i am sharing my knowledge marked in BOLD & PURPLE, providing you basic inputs. I may not be able to match your expectation 100% because i am not a part of your organisation nor a consultant to study and present you EXACT INFORMATION based on FACTS & FIGURES.
You need to coordinate with your FINANCE DEPARTMENT and work closely with your TOP MANAGEMENT. Only then you be in a position to acquire relevant information.
With profound regards

You are most welcome.
I am working in QATAR. HR POLICIES are nothing but the SYSTEMATIC PROCEDURES (A SYSTEM) defined to OPERATE and meet BUSINESS OBJECTIVES. In my opinion, an organisation is run by the SYSTEM and employees works for the SYSTEM but, it is neither run nor we work for INDIVIDUALS.
It remains same for almost all countries except LABOUR LAWS which differ from country to country.
Kindly ignore my spelling mistakes. I apologize for the same.

Well said Mr.Shaik Abdul. I believe many HR aspirants think that they may have to write new policy on their own for their company as directed by its management without the basis of a governing labor law.

for :
salary range: refer to Hay group or Mercer or some other reputed vendor's compensation surveys.
bonus: which one are you referring to statutory or incentive plans ?
for statutory refer to law.
for incentives revert to salary surveys.
frequency of pay hikes: refer to compensation survey again. normally annual cycle.
benefits: you will have to ask for fresh quotes from various players. getting someone else's quotes wont help as bargaining power/ target audience etc vary.
contract: f you want to do it yourself, copy and paste wont help. indepth understanding of labour laws is required.
for starters, check employment contracts of one of your vendors and build upon the same.
