I am working with an ITES company and we have recently moved some of our employees on a different role which is higher in growth path ,Salary remains the same. We will be evaluating there performance for 3 months and then will give them promotion. Do we need to give these employees any probation letter for these 3 months. If yes then can anyone share the sample letter.

If someone already Confirmed/Permanent with you then again you can not put them in Probation.

It is good to consider (potential candidate) to give an opportunity to take up a different roll in an organization, for their carrier growth in an organisation. Normally it is called the identified staff / workmen would be on ‘trail’ for a specific period.
Management to issue a letter assigning higher roll on clear terms /condition, if found suitable, on completion of trail period,( which can be three months to six months) after due assessment of performance, he / she would be confirmed on the higher roll with additional responsibility, with revision of salary (Salary fitment) as applicable. Management also to be specific in that offer letter, that if found, not suitable in the higher roll, Management reserves the right that he / she would be reverted back to the earlier roll/ job function / designation, after the trail period.
