If I am not wrong the EL is calculated as 1 EL for every 20 days worked, the eligibility for EL of an employee starts once they complete 240 days in the organization. All leaves are counted on Calendar year basis, as stated above

Dear Prasanna,
The EL is being calculated on yearly basis on calendar year basis subject to completion of actual number of working days of 240 days. He will eligible for 1 day EL for every 20 working day. In case he could not complete the require number of working days, then, you add to his previous year leave availed and then you see whether h will complete 240 days. for computation purpose of eligibility. In such case he will eligible for his actual working days and not on additional added days.
If a employee joined in the middle of the year, he need not required to complete 240 days but he should complete 2/3 of working days and prorata basis he will get his earned leave 1 day for every 20 days of working.
Still you got doubt, you may write further in the thread.
