Hi Veena! Normally, employees in retail organization are provided with customised unforms or at least white or coloured over coats with name badges. This is preferable so that the customers know for sure whom to ask for any clarifications for their doubts. While giving uniforms, it is necessary to give them in adequate numbers so that the emplopyees could wash them. My suggestion is to provide at least three sets in the first year and two sets from the secoond and subsequent years.

Well Veena, for the Corporate Staff, you can circulate the following
dress code to all :
"In keeping with the Company’s professional image, employees are expected to maintain appropriate standards of dress and behaviour. All employees are expected to be formally dressed during office hours.
For male staff, the dress code would be shirt and formal trousers. For female staff, the dress code would be saree/salwar/formal trousers. Jeans, T-Shirts and trainers are only allowed on Saturday, when a less formal dress code is applied. "

HI,
It would generally depend on what kind of retail you are into.
I know of companies that have casual dressing for their office, because the employees would typically be designers, or marketers. This is mostly companies who are into casual apparel retail.
However, it is important for the shop floor to either have standard uniforms or, at least a theme, like black n denim, or formals for a formal wear store.
Hope this helps.
