One of my employees had an accident at work place . He has been on leave since past one month. He is covered under ESI & PF. How to calculate salary, ESI & PF for the period he is absent from work? Also, what is ESIC leave and how can an employer intimate the ESI department about employment injury? The employee has taken treatment from ESI hospital only for one day and continued his treatment from another private hospital. Would appreciate suggestions from experts. Thanks in advance.

employer has to submit form 12 ( accident report) online immediately after the incident, complete the accident register of ESIC but not later than 72 hrs
once form 12 is uploaded, copy of the same is handover to IP ( employee) or their relatives, for onward submission to ESIC dispensary and thereafter the employee has to follow the guidelines of ESIC, the role of employer is to only attest the documents issued by ESIC in usual course.
