Hello Seniors,
I am currently facing an issue in my recruitment job. I took a candidate who was 1.7 yrs experienced and his current CTC was 15k. However the tech panel of the company suggested him a salary of 18k . Last year we took a candidate for 14k and his technical calibre is similar to the new guy. The old candidate was getting a pay lesser than that, so he joined us for 14k, but the new one will not join if we offer below 18k as he is currently getting 15k. What do u feel the company should do ? The requirement is urgent, but we cannot disturb the internal salary structure too.. we are into the IT industry in Kerala, India....
Please help me if u can find a solution to this.
Regards
Jeena

you offer 18K to new candidate and ask them to keep this secret, i think in pvt sector you are not supposed to reveal your salary to your colleagues. . You have to modify yourself as per time, also if the old candidate is performing well you can give him some hike to make him happy.

The salaries very for every individual and cannot be same as other team members. If you are looking for talented resource then you have to pay them the desired salary.
Secondly there should be a salary band or a range for a particular grade or designation lets say in this case you can fix a salary range of 14-18K for 1.5 - 2 years experienced for the said role.

Hello,
I think the salary structure should defined in the salary slab. eg, 14k18k. To switch to another cmpany, one should require 20% hike. if he is getting 18k, it is nothing wrong in it.

Dear jeena,
we wants to fix the salary on the basis of the competitiveness of the employees the candidate have more compete than the present we can surely pay the hike amount if the person is not competent we don't wants to pay the hike it can be identify the time of interview. so the primary level of interview most crucial to the concern we need a highly KSA candidate in that company wants to pay the high amount.one more here their is no secret he is liable to get the amount so that you can go ahead the right way.
