It is popularly said, believed and even found evident in many research studies that employees join organisations but leave their bosses. This clearly indicates that boss-subordinate relationship by whatever name it is called, plays crucial role in retaining people, increasing productivity, enhancing employee satisfaction and overall creating an employer brand.
While no one would question the importance of impact of the quality of managers (bosses) has on overall growth of the organisation including employee turnover, many questions need to be answered. What qualities define a competent / influential manager? Do certain personality types make better managers (bosses) than others? How does a task oriented vs relationship oriented management style of a boss impact the subordinate performance.
BM conducted a random opinion survey and asked few questions from managers (bosses) and subordinates (employees). Results reveal when compiled, there appears to be a difference of perception both have about each other. While subordinates may have a narrow perception about his senior’s role and behaviour, bosses may also have their own wider perception about subordinates and as a whole organisation.
This time, cover feature centers around understanding psychology of bossism, critical aspect of HRM and many other practical tips, to become good boss and managing boss.
