Dear All,
Our company is obtaining OHSAS 18001:2007. Now my question is recently internal audit been carried out at our one of the site location and that site has not displayed the OHSAS 18001:2007 certificate though all the compliance are in place as per requirement. The auditor has put it under Non-Conformity (NC). Weather it is NC or Suggestion only. Kindly guide.
Thanks,
Sanket

Dear Sanket,
Your organization certified for 18001 or obtaining the certificate? For your query standard never demand to display the certificate, it only seeks for compliance's as per standard requirements. Its not a Non-conformity. Under which clause he put NC and ask / demand the auditor to show where it is written in the standard.

Hi
Please be clear whether you obtained or obtaining. If obtained, you need not to display the certificate in any place in and around your premise and its not mandatory. But you to display the policy in a precise way.
Certificate is for the reference of the company and its the management decision to display it or not. But if you have mentioned in your manual that the certificate will be displayed then you can to post it. If not there is no need for it.

Dear Fire002, If the certificate say so that you have to display it, then do it, but if not then you are not obliged to do so and its not a violation. Regards. NBAton

No... It can neither be NC nor be observation.
You as an auditee have a right to ask NC against which clause have you been given NC?
For all NC or observation - there has to be reference clause against which NC is given.
Certicates may be displayed in MR office, but not mandatory. But yes Policy has to be displayed, rather communicated to all.
Kindly provide details against which clause has the auditor given you NC. One more q's - have the internal auditors qualified? that is are they certified Lead Auditors / certified for Internal Auditors for ISO 18001 ?

Dear Sir, I think if auditor raise any NC against this, then he is not an appropriate auditor. Standard requirement is to ensure your compliances not to display the certificate. Regards, kunal
