I have gone through many documents on web could not found answer.
I just want to know about the ZONE Classification.
What area shall come under zone 1, similarly under zone 2 and 3.

i too had same query....after searching over the net i have found the following classification....hope this correct....
Dear Seniors - Please check and advise.
"Zones in Maharashtra
The state has been classified in to groups A, B, C, D and D+ according to industrial development.
Group A Comprising the developed areas, viz. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
Group B Comprising the areas where some development has taken place
Group C Comprising the areas, which are less developed than those at Group B
Group D Comprising the lesser-developed areas of the State not covered under Group A/ Group B/ Group C.
Group D+ Comprising those least developed areas not covered under Group A/Group B/Group C/Group D."

Zones in Maharashtra as classified by the Ministry of Lobor
Zone 1 - Comprise of the area falling within the limits of all 'A' and 'B' class Municipal Corporations
Zone II - Comprise of the areas falling within the limits of all 'C' and 'D' class Municipal Corporation and 'A' class of Municipal Councils and Cantonment areas
Zone III- Comprise of all other areas in the state, which are not included in Zone I and Zone II

I have one question regarding minimum wages and allownces, if two industries of similar nature out of which one comes under central govt and one under state gov. What will be wage rates. Same for both or different.

Dear Friends
In Gujarat
Zone I - Municipal Corporation Limits of Ahmedabad, Jamnagar, Junagadh, Rajkot, Baroda, Surat and Bhavnagar.
Zone II - Remaining Areas in the State of Gujarat.
But I do not know what is Zone-III.

There are total 23 municipal corporations in Maharashtra (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivili, Ulashnagar, Nashik, Pune, PimpriChinchwad, Aurangabad, Nanded, Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Solapur, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, Kholapur,Meera Bhainder, Jalgaon, Bhiwandi, Nijampur, Dhule, Ahemadnagar ) which has been categorised into 4 (A,B, C & D) by the state govt.

Dea all,
Muncipal corporation,Muncipaltiy are two catergires.Futher they are sub divided in to A,B,C, D.This is based upon the population in the perticular city.Same is for muncipality-NAGAR PAISHAD.
Zone I & II is the area under Metro and Ohter city For eg.Pune
But the industry which falls under MIDC,Grampachayat ,nagar parishad are categorised under Zone III

Which municipal corporation will fall in which class is decided by the respective state govts. Generally it is based on the city population.
