The Government of Punjab has carried out an amendment in the Punjab Labour Welfare fund Act, 1965 to the effect that now the employers can retain the unpaid wages of an employee only up to one year instead of three years; thereafter they have to submit the same to the Welfare Commissioner, Punjab. A gazette notification of the amendment dt. 21.05.2010 is attached herewith for the information of members.
