One of our staff has under gone a uterus removal operation, we would like to know if any compensation has to be paid to her as doctors have referred for 3 months leave

Uterine fibroids removal is neither loss of limb nor disability, it grows with ageing effect and ultimate solution is removal
if the employee is convered under ESIC then the department will handle the procedure to remove it and get the employee cured, medical treatment and absent scheduled wages would be payable by ESIC.
if not covered under ESIC, then management has to decide on their own policy, as the wages act get freezes dot on ESIC capping limit i.e 21,000/- per month
