Hi Friends,:)
How is Sikkim Manipal University for pursuing distance MBA?I am planning for a MBA from this university.
I don't like IGNOU/IMT Ghaziabad/Symbiosis/ICFAI(worst as I am a student ICFAI MCA program) as they are very hard to pass first of all & ICFAI has bad passing requirments paper & group wise & they deliberately fail students while mostly all the female students and some boys who r known to regional centers pass.Atl east thats what I felt here in Calcutta.
Also,IGNOU has 10+2+3 criteria with 50% marks in graduation neither of these I possess. I have a 2 yrs pass graduation from Calcutta University(very bad univ in terms of education policy & biased attitude to some students & fully controlled by the Communist Party in Bengal) way back in 1998 coz of the wrong education policy of this university I am sufering now!!!
Then if you want a degree only I think SMU is good .Am I wrong?
BTW I am a sales executive in a pharma co. posted in Calcutta & I am 32 yrs old.I have a total of 2 & 1/2 yrs + experience.

Pls tell me whether I am wrong in my decision or should I for a ERP-SAP training program on S/D module?
Friends & Seniors, plsss guide me..I am in a horrible state of mind.
Thanks

Its good to have degree instead of nothing, see after years of experience its hardly matter from which university you have taken a degree.
I must say that you should have MBA degree if you need a long term growth in the field of marketing, i must say that IGNOU have better reputation then SMU, but ultimately its upto us that how we present our self in Interview or in Job.
MBA will also help to expand your thinking horizon in management

Yes MBA degrees are very good for long term. Initially it might matter that from where you have taken the degree but ultimately your talent only works.
You can get more help for SMU at smupapers.blogspot.com

Please note that SMU is not providing anything in writing that they are accepting 2 yrs graduation for MBA courses. Even in earlier sessions they have done the same by not making any official commitment on eligibility criteria. If you go through the brochure you will find that they are only accepting 3 years graduation courses whereas learning centers are saying that they accept 2 yrs graduates from Kolkata university. Hence SMU has to communicate something in writing on 2 yrs graduation accepatability in their website so that acceptability of their degrees are wide spread. I know few of my friends who have done MBA from SMU and now they are realy in the dark whether 2 yrs graduate can do MBA or not as their is no clear cut communication from SMU nor UGC
