Dear Seniors, I need your guidance again on the appraisal cycle.
The organisation here follows the appraisal cycle according to the financial year, so if the employee joins in June, which financial year will he be eligible for?
Then they again have a point, like the employee should join before October of that month.

In L&T where I worked for 33 years, we avoided appraisal cycle clashing with financial cycle. Our appraisal cycle was from July to June. So we could focus on both major processes without any clash of time availability from employees.

The performance cycle has to be uniform throughout the organisation as the KRAs cascade down from the organisational goals and targets fixed for the year. For those who join service at odd times, set targets to be achieved in the available time, in case of projects exceeding the end of the current performance cycle, fix milestones to be achieved at the end of the cycle. Thereafter they are a part of the regular cycle. It is better to keep the performance cycle and increment period separate.
