Popo
:( dear all, i would like to share with you guys a scenario which happened at my workplace on friday and would like advise on how to handle it. i had just faxed a certain document to a client and i wanted to confirm receipt with the recepient. all calls are done through switchboard so i went to reception. our accountant was making a call and he looked frustrated because he was failing to get through and at the same time he wanted to go home, but could not go until he had made that call. so our receptionist then asked him to give the phone to me so that i could make my call. as soon as i took the phone and was told to hold on for my caller, the accountant started shouting at me, saying unprintible words i.e. fs and about my personal life like he really knows it. i kept quiet until i finished my call. then i sat at reception and asked him why he reacted that way towards me. he then started agian using the same language. i then stood up and as i was going to my office he used the b word. i went straight to him then i told myself it/he wasn't worth it. so i called my boss and told him. apparently the groupd HR executive popped in and called my immediate boss who then asked him to speak to me. i explained to him what had happened, then he called the accountant. so when my boss came in, the accountant ran into his office. the accountant then came into my office closed the door then said this to me " as a leader i was not supposed to do that, i overeacted let bygons be bygons. i did not answer him. my boss then left without even hearing my side of the story.

i thought today he would speak to me about it thinking that he probably wanted to give me time to cool off. but it doesnt seem like it. what do you suggest i do. i see this person everyday, seems like my boss is not interested in what happened on that day. i was thinking i would write a letter of complaint directed to my boss, copying the HR executive and the accountant because according to the companies code of conduct its a dismissable offense. please help.

Dear Popo
It is really sad to hear what happened...U should definately speak to ur boss. Dont give in writing. That accountant shld be given some punishment. He just cant be let go off by a sorry.
Tell him to give it in writing. Keep the same for ur record just in case that happens again.
Ur boss shld have discussed the matter with u ..how can he just go without even a word.
Regards,
asha

Hi Popo,
This is very bad what happened to you. Your boss should have taken some action against him so that he will not repeat it to some others again. He should definitely be punished for his behaviour.
Better you once again talk to your boss abt this issue. As a boss, it is his responsibility to understand your feelings.

Hello Popo,
I am sorry for what had happened to you. You really deserve to be heard at least by your immediate superior. I believe that there's always two sides of the story.
If you say that there's a code on proper conduct and discipline that is being followed by your company, then, you can at least file a complaint letter or just write down the events that ahve occurred during that time it happened. So that your side will be explained also.
Goodluck to you and hoping that same incident will not happen again.

Dear Popo
What happended to you, it leads to misconduct and necessary action should be taken agianst that empolyee as per rule laid down by your organisation.
I can suggest you, first u can write a complaint to ur boss , Copy to HR. If they are not intrested to take any action then u can complain to the chairman of company.
