Hi,
I had an argument with an HR of my organization(on a project change issue). He said that he will put a bad remark on my job history for this.
I have two questions here
1. If i change my job, after the bad remark, will it be a problem in my background checks or any other way?
2. How to know if my job history has some black remark.
Quick response will be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
Khan

You can tell him he is free to put a bad remark, as well as negative remark on your profile, because in this world no one is forgiven for their wrong doings, he will surely suffer inthe end if he done wrong things, and the more wrong he does and the more late punishment he receives he will be in worst case, he might not have a house, be on the roads begging for 1 rupee. No one can escape the overall super power, that HR will surely pay for his sins, this is the guarantee of deadsoul.

Hello Khan,
I agree with deadsoul2011 'in spirit', but may be not 'in the language' he used, although what he says is true [Remember the saying in The Bible: what you sow is what you reap] :-)
Just ask the HR to go ahead....but pl ENSURE YOU DON'T GIVE HIM ANY CHANCE to expedite what he wants to do. Just appraise your Project manager & the HR Head of what happened. If they can't/don't handle things properly, then let bygones be bygones. Just focus on your work.
The black remark the HR talks about will be in the personal records which isn't usually shared in a Background Check.
Reg your query-2: Usually the Appraisal is discussed with the individual concerned by the Dept Head....I am sure you will get to know it then if your job history has a black remark. You can then respond appropriately.

What was the reason that prompted the HR to state that he would put a bad remark?....well its not a school calendar wherein someone puts a bad remark. And mind you everyone has skeletons in their Cupboards...weather its you or your HR or any other employee but no one shows it out.....Hope you got the point here......Meanwhile you can find out the Bad Remarks of your HR as a protective shield against his bad remarks.....threat with Threat...slap with slap....tit for tat..................rgrds

Hi Khan4u,
I would suggest just ignore the matter and put an end here to it...
Some people use threat as a tool to scare, but if you think that you are right on your part just take it as a reaction to your argument and nothing more. your work speaks for you in the long run so just relax.
After few days, just sit with the same person have a cup of tea/coffee in canteen and discuss the issue with maturity by clearing out all negativities. It will bring a lot of relief to you.....

Khan,
Forget about the threatening of black mark or whitemark. If you are clear to your sub-conscious, need not carry forward the comments given by some one.
You give the best to your potential, automatically you will be recognised/rewarded.

Greetings,

I second Satheesh. Please do not consider this case in isolation, rather look at the big picture. You will never have any control to the back ground verification report issued by any employer you work with.

In addition to it, please remember, even if subjective comments are made in the background, it will only stands valid when there are facts provided to substantiate them.

Consequently, request you to stay focussed on your deliveries within the company. Maintain a sound relationship with you mentors within the firm. Ensure, they recommend you when you leave. If your MD writes a recommendation letter for you , a negative feedback by your HR will create no difference.

You may consider to establish yourself , outside the organization through communities and professional associations. When well known people from every field endorse you, you will have fewer reasons to be worried about.

Finally I reinstate Satheesh 's thoughts, please stay focussed on your work and establish a credibility with industry leaders. In the long run, these things will hardly bother you . Wish you all the best !
