Dear Colleague,
Legally under the provisions of the Contract Labour ( R&A) Act 1970, there is a possibility of Renewal of License. The license is issued FROM a date TO a date specified in the License.

Practically from my experience, I reply that you need to apply afresh for a fresh license. With regard to expired license you may get back the deposit with due application and then apply for a new License. This is the possibility.

Further it is suggested, you may consult the Licensing Authority for further clarifications and possibilities.

Dear Sarkarrkr,
Your Query: Can we activate expired contractor labor license and re-use again by paying the difference security deposit amount ?

The Ans: Yes, you can renew the same by paying relevant fees and fines provided the license within the time frame of work order issued to you by the Principal Employer or other wise No.

The contractor license issued is being issued by the authority with instrument Form V issued by the principal employer for engagement of workmen under contractor in his premises under the provisions of the Contract Labour ( R&A) Act 1970.

Further, a license issued for one establishment can not be used by the contractor for other establishments.
