Dear All,
I am working as a Hr Executive in a reputed company. My husband also want to work in same company, as he is in Sales Department.
but i am worried will that be good Decision. or else i should not revel in organization that he my husband
Kindly Suggest..

Dear Priya,
It would be right to work in the same firm in a non-reporting relationship. If the firm have offered you the role, knowingly, they might either have a culture of hiring spouse or the system to support them.
Is there any other reason why you are wondering ? Please help us understand.

I know many of my known couples work in the same organisations without any problems. As (Cite Contribution) said, if there is direct reporting, there may be some issues. Pon

Being into HR I am sure you must be aware of the HR policies better.
What does your HR policy state about spouses working in the company?
Many companies do not allow. But most companies these days allow the spouses to work in same company however if they are in different department so that there is not reporting relationship...
Different companies have diff policies. In my company I have a couple working. Both belong to different department. I also have a dating couple in the same department. But we are fine with that.
If still you are unsure, why not seek guidance from your senior regarding working policy for spouses in the company? You can always seek guidance in general and then decide accordingly...

Dear Pinky,

So what, it is nothing wrong if both of U work with the same co. But you have to consider certain pros & cons implied in such an option before taking a decision.

Advantages:

1.Both of U can commute together and save costs involved

2.Both of U can share the same food from a common carrier

3.When leave is required for one of U the other can convey

4.Almost all secrets and so on is totally avoided

5.There is no need to lie reg.pay pkt & perks

6.If U have kids creche facility would be convenient and either of U can take care of the kid(s)

7.Misunderstanding and mistrust arising out of chances of suspected contacts within Ur co. could be avoided

8.U will be blessed with lesser gossips about office

Disadvantages:

1.The disparity, if any and if taken seriously, in pay, perks, positions between U 2 may become irksome affecting the very conjugal atmosphere

2.It would be difficult to hide embarrassments happened, if any in work place from each other

3.If you have HRA, conveyance allw. form part of salary and both of U R paid, there could be a danger of disallowing for one. Similarly for education allowance, insurance and such earnings, loan sanctions etc and its' effects on IT matters.

4.U will face problems seeking leave. Normally we apply leave on the pretext that our spouse is sick.

5.If unwanted talks go round it would be difficult for the spouse not to intervene and react to such loose talks

6.Raising personal (secret) loans, receipts cannot happen (many of us help parents, brothers, sisters, friends without the knowledge of spouse)

6.U will hardly have any chance of avoiding home made food and going & eating out cannot happen

7.Above all you have to see the same face back and forth at office & home

Going through the discussion thread I'm sure would have got enough inputs to make your decision.
In a nutshell, my advice is that it's OK for you and you husband to work in the same Co. provided
1. That your Co. doesn't have any rules against it
2. Inform the concerned people in management in advance without fail
3. You and your husband should not be in a position to influence each other's careers
4. You can bear each other for the whole day (work + home)

Dear All,
I am having 4.5 years of Exp. in HR and goining to join logistics firm in Mumbai from 12 oct 2015. but they are asking me to sign a bond for 2 years and they are also goining to mention that if i leave during lock in period i have to pay 1 and half month salary i.e around 40k to them. I need your suggestion whether signing a bond will be a right decision ?
And they have given me in writing that they will take me on the role of a company after 6 month, and i can avail PF benefit after that.

Kindly give your valuable suggestion at the earliest, so that i can take decision for my strategic career growth.

To me it doesn’t appear to be 'grab it' chance going by your descriptions, like delayed taking on the pay roll/PF, Bonding etc. Pl.reconsider.
