Can parent company make provident fund contributions for employees of subsidiary companies or other group companies? Or is it necessary for PF contribution to be paid by the employing entity itself?

If yes, what is the source for this?

If the subsidiary companies follow subcodes of the parent company, the contributions can be paid through parent company. Even if you don't have same code for all the establishments, payment of contribution from a single control unit is possible. But for that you have to log in separately for each unit.

If the subsidiary company or other group company have different balance sheet, trade license etc., then separate PF code will be required. Otherwise possible to deposit under one code.
