Greetings all,
HR fraternities please help me in calculating EL for the year 2013. My company (Partnership firm) comes under tamilnadu shops and establishment act 1947. As per the company policy we are eligible for 15 days EL and 7 days SL and no CL. I have taken 5 days SL from 01.12.13 to 05.12.13 only.HR manager calculates and says that iam eligible for 14 encashment only for this year. Kindly clarify is it 14 days or 15 days of leave encashment for me, since i have 2 more SL credits this year and not used any EL this year.
Thanks and Regards

Dear Saravana,
EL is always calculated on the basis of working days of any particular employee. You cannot fix it.
On completing Financial Year, Leave Book for new year is prepared and at that time EL are credited in the Leave Card of new year. For every 20 days working, 1 EL is calculated.
Hope this information will help you.
