Still Govt. advertise & recruited me/us as Contractual employee. But this post is direct Govt. recruited post & I got Governor approved appointment. Till now, no service break up also not found. Now, may I ask you that Can I claim for Permanent Cader? Please let me know.

Dear Dr.Sanyal,
I'm aware of phenomenon of this sort going on for a long time in govt. & quasi-govt, PSUs. Like you lakhs of contract employees are languishing for many years, in some cases decades in these sector without receiving permanency. In some cases even after Courts' ruling nothing is happening. Govts. should be model employers whereas what we see in India is totally diff.
Are you on a fixed term contract or on casual contract, getting extended year after year and performing regular work like your counterparts in permanent posts. It may fault of the Heads of your institutions might not have initiated any action for making you permanent in the sanctioned post. Try to find out what is the reason behind the delay, may be delaying to induct some of their favoured incumbent to get qualified, vested interests might work like this. You claiming the permanency shouldn't affect your present position. Take cautious approach so that not to get harmed for the present employment.
