Kindly see Has TQM lost its charm after the arrival of Six Sigma kind of techniques focused on radical and innovative improvement? | LinkedIn Answers | LinkedIn for a debate on that issue. SS is a subset of TQM; however it all depends upon how you define TQM.

Hi
TQM & 6 Sigma are both related with the quality aspect of any work. The 6 sigma technique can be one or perfectly to the point thing where as TQM will be done check the over all working.
A company which has been approved as 6 sigma will have good TQM measures but a company who does TQM processes need not be a 6 sigma approved.
