Hi Friends,
Happy freindship Day......
I did my graduation in Bachelor of Information Technology passed with first division and got a job with an International Bank.My total experience in banking is now 2yrs.
I m a little confused whether i should move on my career in banking only or shall i change it to IT.
If i will choose IT........my banking experience will be counted or not?

Hi Meenakshi,
Happy Friendship Day .......
Iam Phani kumar working for a corporate Bank and when comes to your question..
Now Banking Industry also requires IT people, since you have experience in Banking you can perform well in IT dept in Banking also. Now the question is why you want to change the sector..
1. for your Job satisfaction (zeal towards IT)
2. felt bored with Banking.
3. compensation Variation.
it depends on your reason if it is for first one it is good to shift to IT, this thought will not leave you even after ten years working in Banking and nothing wrong in it.
if it is for second reason it is common in any job after you work for some time in any job you will fell like routine and wants to change the job profile or company or sector in some cases and if it is for third reason, yes IT pays more.( you dint specify whether you are in operations or in Marketing Dept or in both).
finally your banking experience will not be counted for IT normally, but as i said earlier if you work in IT dept in Banking only then they may look because you have product knowledge.
this is purely opinion only...

Hi Meenakshi,
as per my opinion your decision is good, because IT Secotr is daminated sector other than any one. They pays more, there is lot of on site chances, five days working etc.
I know well about baning sector those people who are working in Banks they work hard more than general office timings . The same problem also there with IT but not like Banking Sector.
this is purely my personal opinion , choice is yours.
I wish you all the best.
