Dear Brother,
There are 2 main aspects on this subject of Payment of Wages to Workmen:
1. One is Payment or Transfer of earned Wages to the Workmen which may be through Bank Account credit
2. The other potion of the subject is Providing Wages Slip, Showing the Number of days worked, What are his earnings, What are his deductions and what is the net pay etc apart from important aspect whether it meets Minimum Wages. As the question is pertaining to Workmen, there may be need to establish authentic record for any reference purpose, inspection purpose, to show to the legal authorities in case of any dispute at that time the signature of the Workers will become very useful and support organization. This will be a necessity in case of any dispute under Payment of Wages or Minimum Wages related inspections / legal cases. It is a kind of Acknowledgement and closing doubts or queries then and there to workmen on their wages and deductions etc.

3. If all these details (under Payment of Wages/ Minimum Wages format based break ups given in Wage Slip and Register) can be furnished by e-mail to the workers electronically / individually and if you are able to establish that they are gettering all the needed breakups etc then you may apply for exemption under the relevant State Labour Authorities or Central Labour Authorities as applicable to your establishment exempting from maintaining the register and related signature from the workers etc
All the Best
