Dear friends,
I am currently working in a small size IT Company. Here I look after entire gamut of HR and Payroll function. I am working in this company for almost 5 years now. (Normal day shift, 9.30 AM to 6.30 PM) In total I have 7 years’ experience. I have recently got an offer from an MNC (UK shift, timing 1 PM to 10.30 PM). The new job role is HR operations (mainly HR reporting and Analysis of HR reports) and am getting 30 % hike on CTC. (380000 L/A)
I have informed my current employer about the new offer and as a counter offer he is offering me 400000 L/A and 2-3 hours’ work from home (because I told him that I am going to this UK shift because of my child’s school timing so that I can drop him at school and collect him from school).
Because I am here for 5 years and according to my current employer I am a good resource they don’t want me to move.
Please suggest me what shall I do now? Shall I move to the MNC or stay back here only? Please I need a justification along with your suggestion so that I can take a logical decision.

What career prospects do you see in your present company
Will you learn anything new in the MNC
What is the growth prospect of your present company
You have to analyse all these details like transfers learning values before you decide
Higher pay is not the prime criteria

Dear Nathrao,
In my current company learning new thing is very limited but in the MNC they work in SAP and the job profile they have offered is the HR reporting analysis.
My another concern is job security. Which type of organization has more job security?
Need your valuable feedback.

Job security us a myth
MNC in general have clear rules regarding employment, growth ,termination of employees and HR may be mire impersobal in application of rules
Smaller companies may not be having that kind of well defined HR manuals etc
If you are a good employee giving value to organisation then no company would change emploees
You are in reasonable good books since company is retaining you with higher pay
But weigh all factors before deciding

Hr reporting analyst ?
What exactly is that ?
It’s obviously a BPO and you are getting what seem to me, a glorified clerical job
You will never meet the people, never develop any skills other than learning parts of SAP Hr module
If you want to learn more, you should work with a manufacturing or service comoany. Look for jobs in large companies but that have actual HR work, not bpo positions

Dear Siddhima,
If your current company is offering you time flexibility, have recognised your services, covering on CTC. I would suggest to continue, until there is some other value, which is much more than current role. I feel these aspects are already being covered.
Relationship between employee and employer should be mutual, like your present company..
IT is is better to be "Known Devil than Unknown Angel". You never know how you fare in new company/ succeed etc.,
thanks

I suggest to continue with the present employer as they understood & require your capabilities and they respect you. Specifically you are there since last 5 yrs.
As far as the knowledge is concerned you can join any institute and learn SAP etc., as rightly mentioned by one of our HR professional the designation in MNC is a sugar coated tablet, there won't be any people orientation.
We can suggest you but it is you to finally take a call? All the very best ......
