Hi Nithya,
I will just try an give a immpartial opinion.
see as u stated in 10 days time only u cud feel that the person is trying to take over n has majorly successed in it. did u try to analyse y n how it happened.... may be he has got smart people's skill and good client interaction.
Also, it is quite obvious that many people in today's time have a desire to succeed n jump up the corporate ladder ASAP.
i feel that u will need to do the gap filling. show him that yes ur more capable n hard working+ smart working.. try n gain the repo back with ur clients by being extra efficient n taking up their projects , delivering them the service before deadline...
to overtake some1 is not easy but its a competetive race instead of feeling scared or miserable its always good to pull up ur socks n fight back... remember one thing its always the survival of fittest.. so deliver results n face the competetion.
All the best

Hi nithya, Do not worry and get panicky. You still can turn things your way. I feel that may be you were too busy in your personal life after ur return from marriage that u may have failed to attend some important tasks which woud have helped this guy in cementing his position with the client as he is more responsible :-)./ Thats my gut feeling. Anyways, you can still try to turn things around.. I completely agree with Asha Mathew. you should think of coming with the strategy to GO UP your ladder to the next level. By this i dont mean your designation change. try to find out what are the critica things that you can handle.
I am sure you are also good with your people-management skills. Its time you pull up yor socks and look going forward in ur career rather than thinking of this guy who is climibing up in his career. Dont keep looking back. Just move forward :-)
All the very best,:-)
