Dear Ankur,
Don't put your paper down. Believe your self. If you're doing your best, you won't have any time to worry about failure. There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure.

Dear member,
Candidates want to work in good brands. Is your company a brand? If not try to attract candidates by highlighting good points about company. Salary offered also matters a lot.
Try to be innovative. Ask for references while talking to candidates during recruitment.

Hey Ankur,
You have just started your career. Dont be so upset. Why don't you join some practical HR training course. This course will defiantly give raise to your profile. I think this is right time for that. If you are interested I can give the details of that.

Hi Ankur,

I emphatise with you ...Try to be in his shoe...I know it's easy to say and difficult to act upon. Will advise you, accept your boss's comment as a challenge and do the best to prove your self. Find out some different ways to search for the right candidates rather than wasting your time on thinking and falling into such depression. Cos every problem has a solution...u just need to think in a different way...Would like to suggest some tips which can result in better manner:

1. Identify the vacancies

2. Analyse the job descriptions and decide the merits of candidates selection which may avoid the elemination from other rounds of interview

3. Refer the professional websites to search for the candidates like,Linkdin

4. Also use your person id's to post the vacancies of required job profiles.

5. Ignore the negativity around you and try to concerntrate on your work

6. Whenever feel upset, read some inspirational articles and try to divert your mind. coz the more you speak negative, the more deep it may reach

So think possitive and be possitive

Hope this may help you

Hello,

After all is said on the board and with due respect to every contributor, I have to say this:

1) Identify the focal point of your problem/situation.

Granted, this is your first job, granted also, that you are working with an IT firm, just tell me what was discussed during your interview! Has any job profile been issued? Have your performance indicators been issued to you?

2) It could be a problem involving ineffective/wrong communication. Expectations from you have either not been made clear or you are expected to write your own charter. If it is a new/start up company, perhaps the bosses themselves are unclear about expectations from HR. I suggest, you make your job profile and get it approved from your seniors. This would help you in performance, communication, action orientation and also the performance appraisals! If you need help on this"job profile" kindly search the this site. Sometime ago I had posted a representative "job profile" for HR. If you are unable to get it send me private message on the board and I will send the same to you!

3) Frustration in your situation is understandable but not acceptable, if you are committed to move forward. It is generally the lack of clarity in relationships, mutual expectations, hazy conceptual frame work on the part either or both about the function, absence of a dialogue in the real sense. I say this because I have experienced many times that people talk much but are unable to communicate. Get the difference?

Think about the contents oft his mail and if you need to communicate further, you are welcome but in life, you will do well to focus on the solutions rather than on the problems!

Regards

samvedan
