Hi Naveen,
What all the seniors suggested is absolutely correct. Coming to the Wage ceiling of 6500/-, employee should contribute 12% on the whole basic salary irrespective of ceiling and employer can contribute pension fund 8.33% on 6500/- or less than 6500 with respect to their basic wage.
Coming to the contributions you can deduct both employer and employee contributions from the employee CTC, you have that facility.

The wages for EPF contribution should not be less than the prescribed minimum wages under MW Act 1948. There is a very clear ruling of the Supreme Court in this regard.
For all statutory payment/contribution calculations the Wages must match the prescribed minimum wages.

I accept your above posting in principle.
What should be the wages for EPF in the case of a person employed in a scheduled employment for which the appropriate Govt has not fixed MW ?

Dear Mr. Varghesemathew,
The list of scheduled employment is very vast and I doubt there can be any business activity which is not covered.
Broadly speaking any business activity has to be registered either under Shops and Establishment Act or Factory Act 1948. These two business activity registered units are already covered in scheduled employment so there can not be any employment schedule let out.

I am not familiar with the employment schedule of Kerala state but the original document issued by the Govt of Kerala has the employment schedule like Employment in Construction, maintenance of roads, building operations, Employment in Private Educational Institutions.
Aerospace engineering can be broadly covered under Engineering schedule.
