Adapt, quit or fight. I think Mr. Manish bali's advice is quite balanced. However, it seems that TS is bypassing it.Further, it appears that she is less concerned about her plight and more about the set up which according to her is unjust, unfair and unreasonable She wants to teach them a lesson.Bravo1
However, if she wants to repair the set up she may join forums like Judicial Accountability Committee or Aam Aadmi Party ot she may organize one such forum by herself..

Dear Dr. Jogeshwar Mahanta,
Sir, what you have said, is practical. Priority should be to protect my future and life.
And that is exactly my concern. To get them to give me a clean relieving letter, and nlt to teach them a lesson.

Greetings Anonymous,
Many members have contributed to this thread. Having gone through the discussions I wish to add a few thoughts that lingers in my mind.
a) You have mentioned in your communication that you have communicated by e - mail regarding the discussions you had with your superiors. But we are not clear as to whether they have responded to any of the e - mails.
b) You have stated that you called up 100 from the office and at the instance of the police you were let go from the solitary confinement. Did the police officials make any recording of your statement? In my opinion solitary confinement for 3 hours to force an employee accept an unfair rating does not sound logical.
c) You have indicated that you had a panic attach due to harassment and you were on medical leave due to this. What was mentioned in the summary provided to you by the hospital.
d) It is also unclear as to whether you were trying to expose any dubious transactions at the bank that led you to this situation.
e) Were you asked to resign at some point of time by the management and you refused to resign on your own accord.
f) The company has safeguarded its legal position relating to your termination by giving you 3 months notice pay.
g) The only case that you have against them that the termination is illegal. To prove this you should be sure that all actions taken by you while you were in service were error free and you did not inadvertently sign any document that was not correct. As you have served just one year in the company, something could have eluded your attention and this could have been done deliberately by your employer.
h) The other case you have against them is sexual harassment at workplace. The points stated by you in my opinion may not be worth to fight out. However, a professional lawyer will be able to give you right views.
i) If you are in the early stages of your career, I would recommend that you sort out the matter by discussion rather than taking it head on. This suggestion is because as suggested by yet another member for senior positions previous employment reference is essential.
To summarise take up the matter with the global team, I am sure that such MNC Banks will have a grievance redressal committee. Do a little introspection on TGW & TGR (Things gone wrong and Things gone right) before you take a prudent decision.

Dear Ms Vohra'
You have already done three things Called the Police, wrote to NCW and threatened to file Legal case. You are going on the wrong track and very fast. See whatever you do, dont file a legal case. Just imagine you were an employer and had to settle such a matter. Going to a lawyer is most irresponsible and inciting to a counter legal case.
Just relax and negotiate. I have a piece of advice for you "Those wielding hammers, see every problem as a nail" Implying that almost everyone says go to police, go to lawyer and perhaps to the press and file a sexual harassement case blah blah...when the real matter is ADJUSTMENT issues and perhaps PROMOTIONS...so if you are good, you'll get another job to prove. But a legal case and this policia business will ruin your reputations as an employee. I am not suggesting that you accede to harassment. But driving on the road everyday to office and handling tough customers and doing work --for many many people even this is harassament. So define it very very clearly. Office Politics is NOT harassment, that is for sure.

Actually.....in writing we can not express our real feelings....I, too, have full sympathy with you..and understand your situation....being a female...being a senior most.....what you have faced in your organization......is not very easy for you.... what I would like to explain......that ....what you actually want from your life now......since...if you fight the case and want to settle them....will may ruin your own career.....in that case your org. will not support you in any case...
And....on the other side ....you have very harsh exp. ....and cant faith on their words......you suspect after commitment they may back stab you again....and you might be right on your conclusion.......
see DELAY in this case may be the best and right remedy for you.....
DELAY will heal your wounds as well.....will change mind set for your MNC Bank too.....may be some more employees may change their job......from there......some may understand your feelings....slowly......give some more time to you.....and see the effects......

Dear Mr. Kannan,
I am a professional with 15 years of impeccable record and have worked with some very good brands.
If i were guilty, I would not be asking for advice in this forum. To answer your questions:
1. I have not done anything that is against the company policy, sharing of confidential data or breach of contract, midconduct etc.
2. My fault was that I was fairly new to the company and did not know that the SVP, who is a lady and is heading the deptt where i worked, was friends with the male SVP of another deptt. In one of the meetings he was cracking jokes and i laughed at those. She asked me to shut up. On which, the SVP said jokingly to her to leave the room. She packed and left fumingly and since then i became the butt of her insult.
3. When it became untolerable, I asked subtly if i could change the department without escalating against her.
4. Fortunately I was moved to another role. But she had her influence there too and made an issue if I sent an email or attended meetings.
5. My new male boss who hates her took advantage and was using the opportunity. He tried to get friendly with me but since I did not trust him, I recorded his conversations.
6. Whenthe above continued for 3 months, I reached out to HR and asked to intervene.
7. HR had a very paternal and condescending attitude. Please note, that these people are very strong and influential in the company and have had a past record of vindictive and torturous behavior. Mostly towards seniors. They want people to just work on their orders. Anyone with a mind of their own are crushed to death.
8. The meetings concluded that my boss was at fault. They now started to create a more hostile environment.
9. I was taken to the hospital by the HR team at work and they granted me leave without my asking for it.
10. The office has such dirty politics that no one person can be trusted. We were 4 friends who joined at the same time. All AVPs. We were asked not to talk to each other or be seen with other. On asking for reasons, nothing was told except that u cannot be talking to same ppl.
11. Since there was nothing against me: my mid year appraisal was good, my communication with peers was fine, and my performance was appreciated. They got picky about my toilet breaks and lunch breaks. Even though i was gng for lunch alone and wud not take more then 15 mins even though the lunch breaks allowed are for 1 hour.
12. On my emails, I did get reverts. Either by accepting a meeting or by saying that investigation would be conducted.
13. I have reached out to all the people in the heirarchy. And all seem to be supporting each other as no action was taken against the culprits. Any good organisation would serve a showcause if thec omplaint was as severe as mine, to the offenders.
14. In my last meeting with the HR teams that was here for investigatinons, I asked for an amicable parting. The investigation team seemed empathatic as they did not find any mistake at my side. They did not say anything about the investigation but tried to talk smoothly. Actually they were being nice on the surface and tried to get me to resign. I only asked for flexibility in notice period and a kind consideration of extending it, in case I do not find a job within 3 moths. Verbally they agreed.
15. I sent the minutes but they did not acknowledge. I was told that he would review and get back.
16. 3 weeks later I recieve a termination with no warning, no discussion etc.
17. Police did not come to the office. But since they were not letting me go home and harassed me to either agree on the unfair rating or accept a showcause, I had to call at 100. They were not letting me take even 1 hour to think on all options. And asked to take a decision there and then.
18. I have not threatened them ever. I have had all meetings asking tl support me even if we were to part ways. I have not sent any legal notice or any such indication that I will go to the court.
19. I have only yet consulted some lawyer friends to ask if this is legal and all I want is a clean relieving letter.
Unfortunately, most of us have our career, future etc to be scared of. That is why we take the torture And resign and move on. And people like these continue to do what they want and get away with even murder. The said female SVP has a police complaint as a record in the past too, by another female employee. The SVP was hidden in the hotel room for 3 days by the HR head! Are these things not shocking. I know for a fact that any lther organisation would have sacked her by now.
Some strange things going on their where everyone is protecting each other's back. And this is a big british bank.
