Dear Pawar,
Trainees appointed under the Apprentices Act,1961 and 1973, they are being registered under the Govt.ITI (for Trade Apprentices under 1961 Act) and Board of Apprentices (under Act 1973), they got registration number etc., while registration is made with respective authorities. The Trainees taken under the Standing Order of the establishment, it should be specified in the offer/Appointment Letter specifically with the clause of Standing Orders of the Establishment. Otherwise the above, it is better to cover under PF to avoid future complications.

Dear All,
In fact our current discussion is on PF for Trainees. But still I wish to share on ESI for Trainees.
As we discussed, trainees engaged under SO Act are excluded from PF but they are covered under ESI. Shri. Madhu ji has rightly said it in his reply in the beginning itself. By amendment 2010, trainees engaged under SO Act are brought under the ambit of ESI Act.
