Contract labour is labor hired through a third person called a contractor. Your firm will be the principal employer for contract workers/labourers. According to the Contract Labour Act of 1970, contract labourers can be engaged through a contractor who complies with the statutory compulsion for payment of wages in industries. Along with the required licenses, registration of the worker should be done for the specific job that he is hired for. According to the ID Act, hiring depends on the type of agreement that is permitted, and the contract labourers can be employed for a set period.

Hi,

ESIC is applicable for the strength of 10 and above, and the salary limit is ₹15,000 gross salary per month effective from 1st April 2011. PF is applicable for the strength of 20 and above. In case you have fewer than 20 employees, you can apply for PF under voluntary coverage.
