“One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”
--------- Plato
Sometimes our happiness depends on outside factors too. We get up in the morning. When we go on to drive on road we find manholes open, drainage overflowing on roads, dust and filth accumulated in dust bins causing dirty, unbearable smell and viral fevers to our children. Cities like Tirupathi and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh that are major cities of State still have open drainage system.
What would we do? Do we say, "all these things cannot make me unhappy, it is all there in my mind ....... " closing our eyes and nose?
May I suggest you to read the book?
It may not be possible to read the laws because the Sytax is difficult to follow. But the Q&A (question and answers) after each of those laws will give you a fair idea of what it is all about.
By the way I am very happy about what I do. Unhappiness is not about what I do, but about what others don't do. Intelligentsia sitting as a spectator when goons occupy political space is one such factor that disturbs me a lot. That is why I had written Constitution Reforms Act, 2009 which requires that no MP, MLA can contest elections more than once. That means that professionalization will come to an end in politics if these reforms are implemented.

It's not always that nice people finish last... let's go to our school and college days were students who are bright always top the charts.. not necessary that student is on good books with the teachers... Life teaches us good as well as bad things how do we take and bring ourselve up depends upon how strong we are... We do understand the politics is there is every organization but how to you tackle them also counts and shows how matured you are....Our president Dr. Manmohan singh is one of the nicest persons but i think he has not wag his tail in front of anybody.... but he has used his experience to grow and reach an level.

i am agree that nice people finished last and also disagree with this term.
why i tell you. everyone know why it is true that nice people finished last. and i do not think i can give more example. you know better than me.
now why it is not true. in my opinion people think nice people mean the person who give space to other and also keep the peace in the place, organisation or any other institution. this is wrong definition. winning does not go to nice person or bad person. winning goes to that person who stand up and fight about his point of view and stick with it when things are not going good or going rough. take the example of any person. mahatma gandhi is nice person. but he does not take the responsibility to make the peace. he stand out on this point of view or goal and stick with it. he is responsible for so many death because people obey his non-violence code and killed by the Britishers. but he does not lose heart or give up. and that efforts paid him.
nice person does not mean that you are looking for opportunity. did bad person look for the opportunity and when he find nothing than he give up. no way. he do everything to attain his goal by hook or crook so they win. if nice person work like a bad person in terms of dedication and stick with it no matter what than he can win. nice person does not mean that they get the certificate that they have right for the sympathy of others. i can write lot of things about it. but i know that all of you are so intelligent that they can understand what i am trying to say.
hope this help.

Stick to your stand whether it is good or bad or whether it leads to good consequences or bad consequences...that is what Mr. Niceguy wants to say. However I am not clear whether all successful people are nice people or all nice people are successful people. May be he will throw some light on it.
Coming to Mr. Derek Gomes, being "smart" is different from being "nice". It is not necessary that all bright children who top the charts are good people or nice people. By the way Mr. Manmohan Singh is our Prime Minister not our President. Anyway thanks for response.
There are two kinds of leaders in politics or in organizational life. Those who have a need to compete to show what they have and convince others about their abilities and those who don't have to do it with anyone....by virtue of their birth to already established person....that image itself is sufficient for others to pay their obedience....they don't have to face any debates, accept views of others and listen to their opinions. Many successful people in our politics belong to the second category.

Sir
No. How u measure success in life. Only verticle growth in the organisation. Several times in life we miss the bus with all efforts of this kind.
I will give example of successful person in the organisation who retired as Chief General Manager but could not become DMD. What happened he became frustrated as CGM for 5 precious year and suppose he lives for 80 years means he will have 25 years of frustrated life.
Can he bring back 25 years?. suppose one has retired as GM. It is better if he has not used below the belt means of success. Do we still respect Narsimha Rao or Dev Godda. No because we donot expect such a cheap perormance in life

“Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”

I wish people know the difference between the respect paid by others to our positions and to our person. The best form of respect of all kinds of respect that we receive as human beings is self-respect. Those who worry about the respect given by others for the positions they achieve have not known the difference between 'person' and 'position'. The image and respect given by position goes off with retirement. However the respect earned as an individual will live forever.
Those who think 'person' is subordinate to 'position' will suffer. Those who think 'position' is part of my 'personality' will enjoy whatever be the position they achieve in their vertical growth.
