Dear Shwetaji,
Your quaries are very common in nature; and i was going through the comments posted by various persons and one common thing which reflects " Quit the job" ?! How long one can do such things in his/her carrier? I quote " other side of river looks green always and vis a vis.... right? One more example like to share with all : If you cut your feet while walking in bare foot on street, will you ask municipality to lay carpet all along the road? answer is a big NO. Therefore, bye a footware and walk proudly. In this gambit of human life a WINNER NEVER QUITS.
DO NOT BE SENTIMENTAL, GOOD WORK CAN'T BE OVER LOOKED AND JUST WAIT FOR TIME, BE CLAM.
So Cheers. Have a wonderful days ahead.

There is the negative way of looking at your problem. It goes like this:
It is a big organisation and people at the top are all efficient and competent. That is why they are there. They are fully capable of assessment of contribution by any staff member. If they do not show any appreciation, it is because none is warranted. No employee should demand appreciation. By saying that there is some shortcoming in the management style, the employee has only made false allegations against his bosses. This is not welcome. The employee should be properly counselled about this. Such employees might later develop into trouble and pessimism makers. The employee's negativism should be nipped in the bud. He can be relegated to some clerical job and his poerformance strictly watched.

Hi Shweta,
I have empathy how you are feeling. But, let me explain... You are hurt because you expect. Leave expecting! I understand it's hard, but if you don't, you would be emotional. Further, the people are like this only. Do you think such people are in your office only? I bet you are wrong. In your neighbour, in your family, society, everywhere people are like this only. Nevertheless, we are to live. Don't forget. You know, life is a coffee...Let me share an real incident of APJ Abdul Kalam - A group of old students of a college, highly established in their careers, got together to visit their old university lecturer. Conversation soon turned into complaints about stress in work and life. Offering his guests coffee, the lecturer went to the kitchen and* returned with a large pot of coffee and an* assortment of cups: porcelain, plastic, glass, some plain-looking and* some expensive and exquisite, telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.
When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the lecturer said:* "If you noticed, all the nice-looking,* expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is but normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the better cups and are eyeing each other's cups."
"Now, if Life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change." "Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the coffee in it." So please, don't let the cups drive you...enjoy the coffee instead.
....so Shweta, Hope for the Best, but Be Prepared for the Worst... You would be more happy. All the best...!

Great words of wisdom from allmost all - just to my 2 cents to your understanding -
Believe in one simple thing - If you dont fight for your career, do not expect someone to do it for you!
Thats as simple as I can put it across. HOWEVER, there is a very very thin line between doing a job good job and getting credit for it AND, being pushy about it.
The trick is the Buddha path - not too overt and also not too laid back (dont be simplistic and think that if you work good, things will come to you automatically - NOPE - thats a very simplistic view) neither can you been seen as aggressive (because nobody likes a colleague who smart - lets admit it - because the moment people know that you are smart - they TEND to AVOID you BECAUSE they KNOW that you can BEAT them HANDS down).
Phew! thats about it!

Hi Shweta,
I am working with Ipru since June 2006,i saw your problem and subject to ignorance of your seniors.
as per my experience if you can compromise or adjust with your seniors then you can continue your job because if you are doing well business comparitively others than you, then you dont take any tension and also dont think about your seniors ignorance.
your hardworking and your performance is automaticaly prove yourself and no body can be tollerate it but if any personal intension with you or from your side then you will start a better job searching and switch immediately because when you will fight or stand against your seniors then they shall be start harassing continue with you . i am not saying to you for stand against your seniors but plz try to adjust with your seniors because atleast loss is your and so many difficulties and problems is down your productivity and performance.
i am also facing this type of problem since april 2009 but ultimately loss is my.
so plz try to understand and think about this seriously with cool mind.

My dear Shweta,
I perused your mail. No good work goes unnoticed or waste. People generally think that performance alone matters. NO NO, not at all. The person behind the jobs is very important. The attitude (as Mr.Jacob rightly put it) is very important. Your expectations are the culprit - when we talk tall about our own achievements and compare amongst our colleagues, ripples of negativity are made unwittingly. These subtle vibes will create an aversion in the minds of the colleages and superiors alike with the result a mind frame "Oho!! you think you are great and you should be appreciated.. no.. let me see !!" will form with the Boss.
Shweta, you behave over smart ma. Show humillity, humbleness and love in all your daily activities besides working hard. Interpersonal relationship always overtakes knowledge, skill, experience and expertise. A few friends suggested that you should change your job. When you don't change yourself, the same will be your experiennce in your new invironment as well.
I have put in 32 years of service (30 solid years in one organization) and I am now heading the entire administration functions of our organization where 132 people are working under me and I am directly reporting to Sr.Vice President. This is the lesson I learnt Shweta ! When you do your jobs perfect and show result to remain silently with reverance and respect to your superiros and fraternal with your colleagues you tend to receive your appreciation. You want to see? Please adopt my above suggestion.
You seem to be very intelligent and industrious. You are young and hence so many years are left to acheive many things in life. It is not too late my friend... come on! Cheer up.
All the best.
With love and wishes,
