SAP HR or SAP HR MODULE is one of the largest modules in the SAP R/3 system, which consists of many sub-modules like:

1. Organizational Management
2. Personnel Administration
3. Recruitment
4. Time Management
5. Payroll
6. Benefits
7. Compensation Management
8. Personnel Cost Planning
9. Budget Management
10. Personnel Development
11. Training & Event Management
12. Travel Management
13. Environmental Health & Safety (under the SAP HR node in SAP Easy Access)

Many of these sub-modules are further subdivided into many components. For example, Time Management is further divided into Time Administration, Shift Planning, Incentive Wages, and Time Sheet. Environmental Health & Safety is further divided into Occupational Health, Industrial Hygiene, and Safety.

Hi Prabin,

I have over 4 years of work experience in Training and Development. I also have 3 years of experience in SAP as an end user, where I trained many employees on SAP, particularly on Introduction and End User Parts. I am interested in studying SAP HR and would like to know the scope of this field and where I can pursue such studies. I am based out of Chennai.

Kindly advise on the same. My email ID is 27.ranjani@gmail.com.

Dear Friends,

Anyone with experience in General HR can switch to SAP. However, once you change fields, you will become part of the normal IT professionals. In terms of scope and career prospects, there is a lot of potential in SAP HR, as well as in terms of compensation. The work will be challenging, but even in this recession-affected market, there are plenty of opportunities available. To succeed, one must fully immerse themselves in the field, conduct complete research and development, etc.

I hope this clears up any doubts. For more information on SAP HR, please visit my blog entry, which you can find in my profile.

Hi. I completed my SAP HR Certification from Siemens, but there are not many openings for freshers. I am getting calls from a few companies but with a single-digit salary. So, I am in confusion about whether to stay in the same field or go back to the functional experience that I have. Please suggest.
