Dear Anonymous,

By resigning you have done disservice not only to yourself but others too as it encourages a bully manager to do as he/she pleases. It would be better to stand up and fight such bullies.

Normally resignations are sought mainly on two occasions. Firstly and most common, when an employee is in clearly in error. To avoid messy proceedings and as face saving device for the culprit he is asked to resign. Second, when manager has no strong reason to proceed against employee, the victim is forced to resign. Implying that if she stays she will be serving in a hostile environment. It is the duty of senior management to curb such practices as they do little good to organisation and encourage the toxic managers to spoil the working environment of company, resulting in less productivity.

What is done is done, but next time stand up and fight or be ready to be trampled by others. Employees often make the mistake of thinking that loyalty toward seniors is loyalty to the organisation. it is not.

Dear Sharma,
We can stand up and fight for what is right if there is someone who is willing to listen. In an organization, where the entire power rests with the VP HR (no matter if she is right or wrong) nothing can be done. What is right according to her is right and no one else can explain her anything else as she is never read to listen to any of her employees... In our organization, management means our VP- HR, CEO and Director. so there was nothing I could do to fight for justice.
Neways thanks for your input.
Regards,

Dear Anonymous,
What is guarantee that in the next org same fate will not meet you. Even if VP HR had God like powers, you still offered your head on a plate. Were you guilty of some thing? Knowing well that you could not stand scrutiny? I have a very long experience of indian corporate and can say with some certainty that in India HR managers are hardly the final power point. But let it pass. Just a word of caution, History has a habit of repeating itself. Good luck to you
