Dear Kirti,

As wel said by Mr.Dinesh any oganization runs it's culture mostly depends on it's leadership. You have first to set your goals. Then,

Draft our the Vision of management

Prepare A Code of Conduct

Make a HR Policy. This is the most effective way for a good culture in the organization. While preparing policy of HR regarding leave, incentives, appraisals you should be very fair.Dont make a vision throgh cost cutting. This always cuts very low cost by looses very high values.Always keep this in mind while drafting the HR Policy.Quantum of leave, extent of incentives, schemes of promotions are some factors which always affects positively or adversly on the orgainzation culture.

As Dinesh sir said about leadership, first you have to determine which kind of leadership you want to develop and implement in the plant.Always be positive and stops Firing,Shouting on employees. But bring them together to achieve your goals.

Every employeee of your organization feels himself as a member an owner of your plant. This will remove all disputes and keep strong relationship.

Focus on personal events of your staffs.

Dont treat the worker as a pure or low level human. This is the start of your ograniation culture that how you treat your line staffs and workers.Try always to understand them their responsibility.

Dont make partition among the employees like favourable and unfavourable

Salary Policy should be very open and there should not be any hidden cost.

If employees are overstaying then compensate them for that.Dont assume that over time is extra burdon but that is always save future loss.

Arrange every year a get together for all level of employees with their family members.Try once to arrange this in your plant. This will enable the family members of your employee to see where he works and what he works.

Annual increments and Bonsu distribution will also in equal path.Sweet Distrubution on Diwali,Ganeshostav are also some factors for good cultures.

And Most Important above all is the recruitment of right peoples at rihgt places is must.

Every thin will be open and no hidden facotrs will exist with you.

Surely you will run best culture in your organization.

Dear Kriti,
Many rich minds have provided their views & suggestions on improving the culture of the organization.
But looking upon the situation, I feel that you have not arrived at a decision about which method to adopt in this scenario.
Before moving forward, I suggest you to attend one session of Business Meditation™ for great insight in this scenario.
Details can be provided on request.

Hi Kriti,
Culture change is not impossible though it is challenging. The most important factor in culture change is "Effective Communication". Depends on what cultural aspects you are willing to change; If its a behaviour change then it might take time but yes you can do it.
The leaders and CEO or whoever is heading this change should be passionate about this change and should give that confidence to employees and leaders. Line managers or direct supervisors should be trained effectively to promote and lead this change.
You were absolutely right when you asked about activities. However easy it may sound, it is a perfect tool to atleast get started.
You have to know how that cultural change will benefit your company, it cannot be baseless otherwise you can never win confidence of employees.
Hope that helps ..Good Luck !

Dear All,
Improving the culture of the organization is the biggest challenge these days. Rightly said this is a slow process. But certainly some things can make a difference in the Organisation.
1. Improvement in the communication system of the organization.
2. Walking the talk.
3. Cross departmental activities.
4. Increase in involvement & participationof the employees in various activities & groups.
5. Giving proper Training to the employees.
These things are actually implemented in my company and i have seen the difference.
Thanks

Hi

Bringing about change in the work culture and behaviourial change is very challenging work yet the courage and interest shown by you is appriciable.Hope your management supports this and I belive the management is keen too.

Now in My View, to bring about such changes what is needed is-

1)Have detailed study of your organisation in respect of variuos processes, procedures, policies, systems and ofcourse employees and their attitudes towards the organisation.

2)Analyse to conclude that if desired changes are really necessary or not,if so which area needs immediate changes.

3)Convey your findings and necessaity for the change.

4)Plan for implementing the step by step changes, through learning process, so that existing employees do not feel about the changes and easily adapt it.

5)If Employees are reluctant to the changes fiend out the root causes and ensure they are trained and made to learn about the benifits of the change.

6)Treat every employee as your close collegue and assure them of betterment through the desired changes.

7)Rest assured if the chagnes are required to be made,Training people and taking them into confidence is the first priority.

8)I am also sure that if the changes are drilled in the minds of people and directed for their benifits through aligning their efforts towards Organisational goal will give you sucess faster that ever.

Thanks
