In Karnataka, there is no separate scheduled of employment under IT/BPO, Hence most of the organizations follow Shops & Establishment minimum wages.

Minimum wages in Karnataka revises every April based on the CPI points. However in 2017 they have revised Basic salary and DA(Rs.367) as it was more than 5 years for such revision happened. Additional DA from Apr'18 to Mar'19 is Rs.317 which makes total DA to Rs.683.

Thanks to Ram Sir for clarifying about IT,BT Cos. MW in Karnataka and also reg. recent revision of MW by Karnataka Govt. Since the no.of IT, BT,MNC Cos. are increasing and lot of employees are working in them, it will be better for the Kar.Govt.to fix separate MW for them. Some Cos. pay well. some Cos. pay less also since it is not regulated. I request Seniors to give guidance.

Dear Amith, you have not furnished valid reasons for Non Implementation.I presume that it is not for bonafide reasons.You are liable to pay difference of Minimum Wages, additionally Authority under the Minimum Wages Act can impose penalty of 10 Times of Short Payment.Consequently, Please implement applicable Minimum Wages from the date notified

Minimum wage is a poor way to reduce inequality and boost incomes for the poor. When I had to do my finance assignment I realized EITC and direct cash transfers is far preferable, especially since it is a fairly simple mechanism to set up and would not distort the labor market.
One problem though! It is politically impossible, thanks in large part to the type of work organizations like the American Enterprise Institute undertake. EITC and cash transfers are seen as welfare to undeserving losers. To boost payments, taxes would have to go up on high-income earners, another impossibility.
